Derek spent his career supporting others. As Director of Care at Erskine Veterans Care, his role meant long days on his feet and little time sitting still. But knee osteoarthritis gradually began to take that away. The condition left him unable to finish even short walks with his golden-doodle. After trying other options, Derek decided to explored #Arthrosamid as a treatment in both #knees at Glasgow Private Clinic under the care of Dr Manas Tiwari. When we caught up with Derek, he said: “Within in two weeks, I was fully pain free and back to normal. I think I only realised quite how bad my pain had been when I found myself almost learning to walk again and totally adjusting my gait. I was no longer stooping over and for the first time in years, I was fully upright again. “Now, I can walk my golden-doodle dog for miles. Previously, I’d sometimes have to ring one of the girls to come and pick us up. I was in too much pain to make the return journey. “And more than anything I can sleep. Bliss. “My role as Director of Care at Erskine Veterans Care – Scotland’s largest veterans’ charity – isn’t a sedentary job. I can easily clock up 10,000 steps a day just at work. But now I can do that knowing it won’t cause me discomfort. Although, as retirement beckons this Spring, I can just focus on clocking up those steps with my dog and grandchildren, instead!” Now recently retired, Derek is enjoying a well earned change of pace after years of caring for others, spending time with his grandchildren and enjoying long #walks with his dog again. Nick, a passionate golf enthusiast, had been living with ongoing knee pain that was limiting his mobility and taking the enjoyment out of the game he loves. 💛 Gill’s Story Finding Her Way Back to Movement Gill has always been on the move — tennis matches during the week, golf with friends, and a lifestyle built around staying active. But when knee pain crept in, everything slowly began to change. What started as mild “niggles” became pain that made stairs, gardening, and even finishing a round of golf difficult. She went through different treatments, but nothing brought lasting relief. Gill visited Fortius Clinic in London where she was treated by Sports & Exercise Medicine Consultant Dr George Bownes. Over the next few months, something shifted — she noticed more ease, better mobility, and the confidence to get back into her routine. Claire, 54 always loved #exercise and team #sports. When she started to experience problems with her #knees around 8 years ago, it hit her hard. 🏃‍♀️ Sylvia’s Story: From Setbacks to Saddlebacks 🐎 After a decade of persistent knee pain, Sylvia—a dedicated sports therapist and keen #runner—found herself having to step back from the activities she loved. “It stopped me running,” she explained. “As soon as it was getting bad, I just stopped. 🔟🦵 10-year follow-up after intra-articular injections of 2.5 % polyacrylamide #hydrogel for #knee #osteoarthritis #Arthrosamid (2.5% iPAAG), a non-biodegradable injectable polyacrylamide hydrogel implant for knee osteoarthritis, was presented at two leading #conferences: 🔵 The European Knee Society (EKS) meeting, held in Copenhagen in September 🔵 The International Symposium on Intra-Articular Treatment (ISIAT), held in Bucharest last week Key findings from 10-year data showed: ✅ 61 patients, 89 total knees treated ✅Mean time to knee replacement: 3.4 years post-injection with 2.5% iPAAG ✅ No significant adverse events related to 2.5% iPAAG reported ✅ Surgical records from subsequent knee replacements gave no indications of unusual adverse events.
