Robert Clark

For over two decades, Robert Clark, 61, endured persistent knee pain and the long-term effects of osteoarthritis — a result of a life filled with both high-impact sport and devastating accidents. Now, three months post-Arthrosamid treatment, he’s beginning to feel relief for the first time in years. He’s shared his journey, from the first signs of trouble to the decision that has helped him reclaim his active lifestyle.

For Robert, it all started with a serious knee injury in college, which took him out of sport for around a year. Following this, Robert suffered a string of major injuries. “I had three operations on my lower back, broken bones, and even a broken neck after a horse-riding accident,” he explained. Despite these horrifying accidents, he pushed through recovery, driven by an unwavering desire to stay active. He did, however, avoid high-impact sports which led him to embrace cycling, and skiing, while trying to be mindful of his knees.

During this period of his life, he shunned heavy medication, opting for basic paracetamol and recovering swiftly from post-surgery reliance on morphine, along with supplements which offered uncertain relief. “I felt they helped a bit, but I could never say for certain,” he admitted. Despite supplementing his body’s armour, the underlying knee pain persisted.

Later in life, scanning what he thought was a groin strain revealed to be not a soft-tissue injury, but hip arthritis. That scan led him into contact with Dr. George Bownes, who initially planned steroid treatment for his hip. The conversation shifted when he casually mentioned his persistent knee discomfort — an unspoken, chronic wear that had become part of day-to-day life. “That’s why I bumped into George,” he said. “I’d long since given up hope that anything could really help.” George introduced him to Arthrosamid®, the treatment that sparked newfound hope for Robert.

In a single morning, he received the injection, guided by ultrasound. He walked out and cycled for an hour the same day, as per George’s instructions. “I was cycling within 20 minutes of having the injection,” he revealed.

Three months on, his transformation is remarkable. “I forget I even have knee issues,” he said. He recently completed several gruelling stages of Le Loop, which resulted in knee fatigue, rather than knee trauma. “My knees weren’t even a factor — my hip hurt, yes, but my knees didn’t,” he admitted.

He has already recommended Arthrosamid® to friends, including a non-athlete who loves hiking. She has since also experienced noticeable improvements. Robert acknowledges the benefits and positive results he’s seen from the product so far and has highlighted how life-changing it’s been for him. “It’s given me a level of freedom I haven’t felt in years,” he reflects. “And that, for me, is worth everything.”
