Contura Orthopaedics Ltd is een spannend nieuw partnerschap aangegaan met de toonaangevend orthopedisch specialist op het gebied van wereldwijde uitbreiding, Ortho Consulting Group (OCG), om de distributie van zijn nieuwe behandeling Arthrosamid® naar de Europese markt uit te breiden. De overeenkomst (formeel ondertekend op 21 januari 2022) zal de werving en het beheer van een netwerk van distributeurs vergemakkelijken om vooraanstaande orthopedische specialisten in te schakelen voor de marktintroductie van Arthrosamid®.
Arthrosamid® is een polyacrylamide hydrogel die door Contura is ontwikkeld als een langwerkende intra-articulaire injectie die in Europa is goedgekeurd om langdurige pijnverlichting te bieden bij knieartrose. Er zijn een aantal klinische onderzoeken naar Arthrosamid® afgerond en er lopen nog meer onderzoeken. Uit gepubliceerde gegevens is al gebleken dat meer dan 70% van de patiënten een positieve ervaring had met de behandeling, met meer dan een minimaal klinisch belangrijk verschil, met een vermindering van pijn, stijfheid en fysieke mobiliteit na 6 maanden, waarbij de pijn en de fysieke functie na één jaar gehandhaafd bleven.1
Arthrosamid® is a polyacrylamide hydrogel developed by Contura as a long-lasting intra-articular injection approved in Europe to provide sustained pain relief from knee osteoarthritis (OA). A number of clinical studies have been completed into Arthrosamid® with further trials ongoing. Published data has already shown that over 70% of patients had a positive experience of treatment, exceeding a minimal clinically important difference, with a reduction in pain, stiffness and physical mobility at 6 months with pain and physical function maintained beyond one year.1

Arthrosamid® wordt opgenomen in het synoviaal membraan en zorgt voor meer demping, verlichting van de pijn en verbeterde mobiliteit voor patiënten met knieartrose. De ontwikkeling van Arthrosamid® volgde op indrukwekkende klinische gegevens met Arthramid® Vet, een verwant product van het bedrijf, bij de behandeling van kreupelheid bij paarden.
