Arthrosamid® was right for me

"I was only at the Clinic for an hour – and it was a two-hour round trip – so very quick and easy. I did experience some discomfort in the 24 hours after the injection – but since then, my recovery has been very positive. The constant pain in my knees has gone and I’m so much more mobile.

“I used to really suffer on long car journeys and flights – but one thing I’ve really noticed since the treatment is that I can get out of my seat easily and without pain. And, now that I can bend my knees again, getting up and down from the horse drawn carriages is no longer a problem.

“When my friend’s complain about their joint pain now, I say – just do it! The difference in how I feel on a day-to-day basis is huge. It’s one of the best things I’ve every done and I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend the injection to other people experiencing as much pain as I was.”"

Arthrosamid® was right for me

Arthrosamid really has changed everything – and I haven’t looked back since the day I had my treatment. It’s brought me back from the brink of having to give up dancing....and now, as they say, I have every confidence that I’ll be able to.....’keep dancing!!’”

Arthrosamid® was right for me

“After a ski injury in 2003 and subsequent 5 failed knee surgeries until 2015, my chances of having a painless life were largely non-existent. Pronounced osteoarthritis of the knee limited my physical expressions – even the stairs to the basement of our house were a big challenge.

My family is very physically active, so my limitations were a strain both in relation to my family and in terms of my mental health. In the summer of 2016 I was asked if I was interested in participating in a trial of injections with Arthrosamid. The first week after the last injection I had knee pain – and I was very worried that I had made the wrong choice. But after a week, the pain disappeared. I suddenly had a lot less trouble and less pain than before... but for months I actually just went and waited for my 'old' pain to return. It just never happened!

I am not 100% painless, but my pain is probably reduced by about 80-85% in daily life and I am 5 years on from my injection. I can only recommend anyone with osteoarthritis of the knees to seek treatment with Arthrosamid®”.

Arthrosamid® was right for me

“Having had a knee replacement on my left knee I knew how painful and long term the commitment to rehab and recovery would be if I had surgery on my right knee. I was regularly taking prescribed pain medication and had received steroid treatment with limited success.

Therefore, I was very happy to try Arthrosamid® in my knee - This was in 2017. The treatment itself via needle was relatively painless, maybe a little uncomfortable and I was able to walk immediately after. My pain eased over the next few days and the following weeks to a level of acceptability and comfort which I had not had for years.

I am now eager in 2021 to get further treatment”.

Arthrosamid® was right for me

"Five years ago I was injected in my left knee with 6 ml of Arthrosamid®. Before the injection I couldn’t walk and I had to sit in a wheel-chair. I couldn’t visit my daughter who lives in an apartment without elevator as I couldn't climb the stairs. Following treatment with Arthrosamid®. I was able to walk with a crutch and was able to climb stairs.

Now 5 years later, I can still walk with only one crutch. This treatment has really improved my quality of life dramatically".

Arthrosamid® was right for me

"I am fit and healthy and exercise most days, I have a good diet, have never smoked nor touch alcohol. I was diagnosed with Arthritis at the age of 61. Not much help was offered through the normal medical services, and that offered was ineffective, even pain killers and electronic gadgets were not much use. Long term prognosis was replacement knees when I reached 70.

My ability to run and exercise was halted and the extreme pain hindered my ability to sleep. The lack of sleep and halting of my exercising affected my lifestyle, weight and mental health. Having suffered for about 4 years I received my first Arthrosamid® injection some 3 years ago, the effect was almost immediate, the night of the injection was the first decent night’s sleep I had in years, I am pain free, have the ability to run and exercise again daily, best of all I sleep well with no pain this has helped with my mental health and I feel better which has led to a better quality of life.

This was the best remedy offered and best decision ever taken".

Is Arthrosamid® right for me?

Arthrosamid® is approved for the symptomatic treatment of knee osteoarthritis so any patient with this condition may be suitable. Over the last 10 years many patients have benefitted from treatment with iPAAG. However treatment with Arthrosamid® may not be suitable for everyone. Your doctor is the best person to advise you.

How does it differ from other knee injectables?

Arthrosamid® is different from viscosupplement injections such as Hyaluronic Acid (HA), Platelet Rich Plasma (PRP) and regenerative stem cell therapy. Unlike these treatments, Arthrosamid® becomes an integrated part of the soft synovial tissue in the joint capsule and may work for longer. In the clinical trials patients were still benefitting beyond 156 weeks.

What are the side effects of Arthrosamid®?

Before you are given an Arthrosamid® injection, you will also have a local anaesthetic, which may sting a little, to numb the area around your knee. No serious adverse events linked to Arthrosamid® have been reported in studies. The most commonly reported side effects were injection related mild to moderate pain and or joint swelling, which were generally transient in nature.

Ready to take the next step?

If your pain has not been improved by over-the-counter painkillers or lifestyle changes to diet and exercise, it may be time to talk to your doctor about Arthrosamid®.
