Knieosteoarthritis oder Kniearthrose ist die Abnutzung und der Verlust des Gelenkknorpels und die am häufigsten diagnostizierte Art von Arthritis. Neben einer vererbten Neigung zur Arthrose oder bestimmten vererbten Merkmalen, gibt es jedoch mehrere zusätzliche Faktoren, die zu einem erhöhten Risiko für die Entwicklung einer Kniearthrose beitragen können. Als erste Praxis in Deutschland haben wir das neue Polyacrylamid Hydrogel von Arthrosamid® für die Behandlung von Arthrose am Knie verwendet. Es wird bereits seit über 20 Jahren im Pferdesport verwendet und ist seit 2021 auch für Menschen zugelassen. Bei der Behandlung mit Hydrogel Arthrosamid® werden dem/r Patienten/in lediglich 6 ml Hydrogel in das Kniegelenk injiziert.

We attended the BOA2022 Congress and London Knee Meeting this month to introduce Arthrosamid®, a new class of therapy for patients with knee osteoarthritis. the coming month, we will attend the Bristol/Oxford Uni Knee Meeting and Wexham Cruciate 2022.

Arthrosamid® by Contura Orthopaedics is an intra-articular polyacrylamide hydrogel injection (iPAAG). It is a non-biodegradable single-dose injection that delivers long-acting and sustained pain relief, improving the quality of life for patients with knee osteoarthritis.
